Triang Triumph!

The Triang is a competition between Workshop, Westside (formerly Tresillian) and WA Camera Clubs.  It runs every year around October-November, and the three clubs take turns in hosting the award night.  This year's host club was Westside.

Each club submits 10 mono prints, 10 colour prints and 10 slides.  There is no set subject, no age limit on images, and the only exclusion is any image that has been in the Triang before.  The judge was John Gill, a judge who we have seen at Workshop many times.  He put a great deal of effort into the judging of the total of 90 images, and his comments on a selected subset were very well-considered.

The best news is that Workshop won the trophy again!  The scores in the mono print and colour print sections were very close, but we did actually win them both.  In the slides we pulled away even further.  There were a lot of very strong images in the collection, so it was definitely a good one to win.  The full scores are shown below.

Colour Prints Mono Prints Slides Total
WA Camera Club 159 153 149 461
Westside 159 151 146 456
Workshop 163 159 157 479

The other thing to take note of is that Westside put on a magnificent supper spread.  Since we are hosting in 2009, we had better get our act together in that department!
